Aug 07, 2017 You don’t sync the whole calendar with Nextcloud? I haven’t tried to publish single events, you could try the normal calDAV link (if you click on the three dots on your calendar in your NC web interface, you can get the link). The calendar is integrated in Thunderbird 78, so lightning will obviously not only not appear, it will not install. On a similar note PGP/Enigmail is also integrated but will not be available for some time (months) so Enigmail users will not be automatically updated. Thunderbird 78 has not yet been released, although release is imminent. The user can also access the web gui via cloud.MYDOMAIN.com, but Thunderbird won’t display any events from that calendar via caldav. Tcit February 10, 2020, 6:35pm #4. Jul 21, 2016 My nextcloud server (back then it was still running ownCloud) stopped syncing calendars with Thunderbird/Lightning a few weeks ago. Now I just learned, that my hosting provider (Hostpoint) upgraded from Apache 2.2 to Apache 2.4 which now supports http2. This upgrade seems to be what broke the sync. Is there something I can do on the nextcloud server side to get the sync working again?

Addressbook¶

As someone who is new to Nextcloud and new to CardBook here is what you need in excruciating pithy detail to make this work:

Calendar
  • Thunderbird for your OS unless it comes with your OS distribution (Linux)
  • CardBook (a Thunderbird contacts add-on.)
Thunderbird

Once you’ve installed CardBook and Thunderbird do like this:

  1. In the bottom left of the Contacts View (in Nextcloud contatcs) look for a little impeller symbol that looks like this:

which will display and URL that looks something like this:https://cloud.nextcloud.com/remote.php/dav/addressbooks/users/daniel/Thunderbird/

  1. Cardbook is found in the upper right corner of Thunderbird:
  1. In the Thunderbird Cardbook add-on:
    • “Adressbook > New Adressbook Remote > Next
    • Fill in your information
  1. Validate your settings and click Next, then choose the name of the addressbook and click Next again.

5. Once installed, synchronize your addressbook by clicking “Synchronize” in the top left corner of CardBook. You’ll see your address book populate from Nextcloud!

  • Lightning (a Thunderbird calendar add-on.)

Once you’ve installed Lighning and Thunderbird do like this:

1. Go to your Nextcloud Calendar and click on the 3 dotted menu for the calendar that you want to synchronize which will display and URL that looks something like this:https://cloud.nextcloud.com/remote.php/dav/calendars/daniel/personal/

  1. Go to the calendar view in Thunderbird and right click in the calendar menu to the left (where the names of the calendars are) to add a New Calendar.
  2. Choose On the network
  1. Choose CalDAV and fill in the missing information:

I have also added a comment to an existing bugreport for thunderbird (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1106727). As the sync works with Android and iOS devices still works, TB certainly is also involved in this issue.

Nextcloud Calendar Outlook

The nextcloud server is the latest version. TB/Lightning as well. Tested with Windows and Linux (Kubuntu 16.04LTS)
